Commuter rig of dreams

Spring is here and while there’s still snow flying in some places, the best part about spring (if you aren’t a year-round commuter) is dusting the bike off and gearing it up for the months ahead of riding. Not just to work, but to the store, pub, game or simply just to get out. The rig is easy. Take your commuter bike with a rack and add the following set up. If you need tips on getting the right bike, REI has some great advice on the subject. As far as a commuter rig goes there are so many out there and racks are easy to come by. It doesn’t matter what bike you have, but any bike with a standard rack works great. Here’s what you need:

2 Rack Pack Grocery bags

1 Rack Top Pack

WHY IT’S SO DARN AWESOME????

The Rack Pack Grocery bags are foldable, sturdy, have reflective accents and are designed to fit any rack. The Rack Top Pack is brilliant because it’s insulated and will keep cold stuff cold until you get home. That 6 pack and bag of frozen peas fit just fine with some other goodies thrown in, too.

With this system, you have reflectivity for riding, versatility in how you carry what, excellent weight distribution and above all – you get to focus on the fun of riding a bike! If commuting isn’t your thing yet, try it once and you’ll be hooked.
